  • check_circle Northwestern State University's Aviation Science Program produces qualified airplane pilot applicants who seek a career as a professional pilot. Our FAA approved Pt. 141 pilot school provides both ground and flight courses which lead a person to the acquisition of the following pilot certificates and ratings: Private Pilot, Commercial Pilot, Instrument Rating, Flight Instructor Airplane, Flight Instructor-Instrument, Rotor Craft Helicoptor to Fixed Wing Transition. Students earn a Bachelor of General Studies degree with a concentration in Aviation Science. Because of Northwestern's reputation for excellence in the aviation community, those individuals who complete the recommended plan of study and obtain their Baccalaureate degree are in demand for entry-level Pilot and/or Flight Instructor employment. Utilizing university owned aircraft, NSU has been offering flight training since 1970.
